About Courtline Pickleball

Meet the Founders: John and Letha Rodrigues

With over 15 years of experience, John and Letha Rodrigues have not only played a key role in growing pickleball in the Northwest but have also become highly-accredited players in their own right. Both are multi-medal winners in tournaments across the United States, competing at the 4.5+/5.0 level. As members of Team Selkirk, they are proud to represent a brand that shares their commitment to excellence and innovation.

A Legacy of Growing the Game

John and Letha’s passion for pickleball extends far beyond competition. For over a decade, Letha was the first USAPA Ambassador for the Coeur d’Alene region, with John joining her five years later to help grow the sport. Their dedication led them to co-found the first pickleball club in Coeur d’Alene, the North Idaho Pickleball Association (NIPBA). John served as the club’s first president and was a two-time tournament director for the Coeur d’Alene Classic, volunteering countless hours to bring high-level play to the community.

Their commitment to the sport has taken them across the country, where they have taught clinics and private lessons in states like Florida, Arizona, California, Oregon, and more. As “snowbirds,” they divide their time between Arizona and California in the winter and Idaho in the summer, teaching and playing wherever they go.

Our Unique Coaching Philosophy

Over their years of playing and teaching, John and Letha have developed a unique coaching style honed by some of the sport’s greatest minds, including pros like Dee Davison, Tyson McGuffin, and Helle Sparre, to name a few.

John, with a B.A. in teaching and a background as a pastor who trained and taught leaders, holds an IPTPA Level 2 Professional Pickleball Teaching Certification. Together, he and Letha teach using three distinct learning styles—Auditory, Visual, and Kinesthetic—to ensure that every individual can effectively retain and apply what they learn on the court. This comprehensive approach is a hallmark of their coaching and why their students are always eager for them to return.

Beyond the Court: Courtline Construction

Expanding their business to include court construction, John and his son, Joshua, install pickleball courts throughout the Inland Northwest. Their deep understanding of the game informs every aspect of their design and construction, ensuring a final product that meets the needs of players at any level.
